Holidays are coming, are you ready for them?
Posted by: | CommentsThe holidays are coming. First my favorite which is Halloween. Probably the only real holiday I love anymore since it is fun. Like all holidays though it has been taken over by businesses looking to make a quick buck since they import crap from China and other countries trying to sell it for one time use so they can make a large profit on cheap stuff.
The meanings of all these holidays since to have fallen by the waste side to give in to the business end of them. Christmas is probably the worse since it starts getting into swing long before other holidays and you are sick of it long before it gets here. Being a Buddhist, I find holidays to be a hassle which have lost meaning and just a time of year to avoid since they have been turned into a joke for the most part.
I have been looking at fabric for Halloween. In some respects I love crafts, the fabric I was looking at had great bright colors with a great design on them. I am still thinking of something to make with the fabric.
Which brings me to the question. Do you use the holidays to make money? Holidays can be a great time to make money since people go out of their way to charge up their credit cards and spend well beyond their means. SO why not get in on the action? My friend in gay and figures I am a safe person to take to the gay bars since the guys there won’t be interested in me. He know I like the gay bars since the whole scene is a lot different than the straight places. I have always found them to be fun and a lot less of a problem than the straight bars were guys get drunk and tend to get into fights. Anyway, enough said about that…
He knows I like the big apple and the drag shows so he knows it is easy to tempt me into a trip since he knows work is something I always do everyday and just as long as I have my laptop and a wifi connection I can be anywhere.
