Blogging for money has become a hot thing in the last few years. I have found it to be a profitable investment myself in the last couple of years. As the blogging for money websites ramp up to speed, I’m seeing all kinds of books, e-books, websites, and other “products” which you can buy to help and speed up getting rich from blogging. Like everything else in this world though, most “products” like this won’t help you past a certain point. If you do not know anything about blogging at all then you might find some use in these products.

Out of all these “products” I recommend only a few.

Why only three? Good question!! First let me say that learning to blog isn’t that hard. These three books will get you well underway to creating and get going on your way to blogging fame.

Problogger is written by Darren Rowse, I have learned a lot about blogging by reading his blog which inspired the book.

Blogging for Dummies, any of the Dummies books are always a good basic start in something you know nothing about. If you don’t have a good grasp of the basics, the advance stuff will just confuse you more.

The last book, WordPress of Dummies teaches you how to use the main software for blogging. WordPress is pretty much the most popular software for blogging on the planet.

When it comes to hosting I recommend Godaddy.com

Go Daddy $7.49.com sale 468x60

Why Godaddy? They are cheap, good, and very easy to use. Plus you can set up a website in minutes all on your own. I have over 30 domains and 40 websites through them now. I have been with many other domain and hosting companies and have so far found them to be the best for my use.

No, I don’t work for Godaddy. I just like the way I have been treated by them over the years.

Once you are up to speed with the basics of blogging, have a domain name and WordPress blog setup, you still aren’t ready to become a millionare. Like all good things, it takes “TIME”. You just learned the basics, no you are set to learn the rest. The learn curve for blogging is like any other, it takes time, hard work, and determination. Don’t expect results in a day, week, or month. It can take six months to two years for a blog to making a good income. How hard you work at it will determine the real time line, plus the topic of the blog. Having a blog on the subject of “Underwater Basket Weaving” isn’t going to be as popular as a blog like “The Sexual Adventures of O”.

If you really want to be a blogger full time and make your money blogging, then once you get down the basics, start reading other blogs on the subject of blogging. Learn everything you can, try everything, and find out what works for you. Don’t take everything these blogs say as if they are written in stone, they are just telling you what has worked for them. Technology changes so fast on the net, what worked for them may not even exist anymore. Take the advice but don’t live by its word.

What is the real truth about blogging for money? The real secret to getting rich by blogging? The real truth is that there is no secret. Time, hard work, and determination are the only way you are going to get to the money. Sorry folks, the truth hurts. So don’t waste your money buying all the scams out there to learn the “Secret to Blogging”. If you still think you have to throw your hard earned money into this blogging venture, just send it to me and I will come kick you in the nuts, that way you will at least get a painful lesson to remember.

I think the last thing before you begin on your way to blogging fame is ask yourself one question. “Do I like to write?”, well do you? If the answer is, “I LOVE writing and can’t live if I can’t write”, then you would make it as a blogger. If the answer is “No, I hate writing”, then send me the money and I will be right over with a painful lesson. Blogging is writing, LOTS of writing. Just on blogs I spend three hours a day writing. Take that as short, being a professional writer I can turn out work a lot faster then most, only because I write a lot daily and have done it for years. Blogging came become a fulltime writing job, so you had better enjoy writing and the subject you pick for your blog.

Now that you have a start on the learning curve you have a lot more to go. So go read a book.
